Texas is the seat that decides whether the Senate map is a Republican hold or a genuine fight, and the market has moved decisively. James Talarico leads Ken Paxton 65.5 to 34 on Kalshi and 65.5 to 34.5 on Polymarket. In mid-September the same books read 54–47 and 52–47; in early August Paxton led.

Kalshi turned $634,170 here today, up from $450,390 three days ago and the busiest state Senate book on these pages. Polymarket's turned $154,883, and the two exchanges now price the leader identically.

The flow has swung back to the leader. Kalshi shows $342,171 on the Talarico leg against $291,999 on Paxton, where three days ago the trailing side took more. Polymarket's money is on the leader too, $98,838 to $56,045. Election day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Kalshi's two-way Categorical beside Polymarket's. Both have Talarico ahead by more than thirty points: 65.5–34 on Kalshi, 65.5–34.5 on Polymarket. The gap between venues on the leader has closed to nothing. Kalshi carries four times the volume.

Talarico at 65.5% on Kalshi and 65.5% on Polymarket: no cross-exchange spread at all on a race that was a coin flip in August.

The volume agrees for once. Talarico's Kalshi leg has taken $342,171 in 24 hours to Paxton's $291,999, and Polymarket splits $98,838 to $56,045 for the leader. Three days ago Kalshi's flow had drifted to the trailing side; it has come back, and the price has added a point and a half.

The two margin ladders, one per candidate. Kalshi prices Talarico by 1+ points at 64.5%, by 3+ at 46% and by 5+ at 30%; Paxton by 1+ at 30.5% and by 3+ at 18.5%. In September the Paxton ladder was the higher of the two. Read together they still describe a single-digit race: Talarico by five or more is three in ten, Paxton by five or more one in ten. The Talarico ladder turned $32,984, $17,105 of it on the 3+ rung.

Two books that put Texas in context. "Blexas", whether any Democrat wins a statewide race in Texas in 2026, prices at 69.5%, four points above the Talarico contract it should track, on $1,880 of volume. And the closest-Senate-race Categorical has Texas at 12.5%, down from 16.5% and second to Iowa at 18%, with Maine and Kansas at 10.5%.

That last one is the interesting cross-check: as Talarico's lead widens, the market is less sure Texas is the race decided on the margin.

What Texas does to the national map. Senate control sits at Democrats 64.5%, Republicans 37.5%, from a 51–49 Republican lean in mid-September. The Maine-Texas combo book prices Talarico and Troy Jackson both winning at 48.5%, back up from 43.5%, Paxton and Susan Collins both holding at 27%, and the split outcomes at 19.5% and 10%.

The combo's money is on the Paxton outcomes: $15,362 of its $28,250 day bought Paxton-and-Collins at 27%, and $6,186 Paxton-and-Jackson at 10%.

  • The lead has widened, not just changed hands. Paxton 50.5–49.5 in early August; Talarico 54–47 in mid-September; Talarico 65.5–34 today. Two exchanges moved together each time, which makes it a repricing rather than a book-specific drift.
  • The money is on the leader on both venues. $342,171 to $291,999 on Kalshi and $98,838 to $56,045 on Polymarket, three days after Kalshi's flow had leaned to Paxton.
  • No cross-exchange spread. Kalshi and Polymarket both price Talarico at 65.5%. When that gap opens past four or five points on a book this deep, one venue is late.
  • The margin ladders still say single digits. Talarico by 5+ at 30%, Paxton by 5+ at 9.5%.
  • Trump's Texas rally. Kalshi's mention board on it turned $192,110 with Paxton and Talarico both priced above 97% to be named; see the mention markets workspace.
  • Texas has slipped on the closest-race book, 12.5% to Iowa's 18%; see the Iowa and Michigan workspaces.
  • Senate control is the whole point. 64.5% Democratic on the control book, and Texas is the largest single move behind it.
  • "Blexas" at 69.5% is the Talarico contract in disguise. The two should track each other; the four-point gap between them is a listing artifact, not information.
