NBA Champion 2027

Both title books are putting their money on teams they price at nothing. Kalshi's 2027 champion board turns $50,805, and its busiest leg is Philadelphia at 9.5% on $9,662—against Washington at 0.5%, fourth-busiest on $4,676. Polymarket's board turns $126,239, two and a half times Kalshi's, and its busiest leg is the Utah Jazz at 0.75%, which took $36,461—29% of the entire day on a team priced at three quarters of a cent.

Kalshi's open interest is the number that does not fit. Philadelphia carries 5,273,229 contracts against a $9,662 day. The board is barely traded and enormously held—a season-long position book with a thin daily tape on top of it.

The two exchanges also disagree about who matters. Utah and Toronto carry Polymarket's flow; Philadelphia and Minnesota carry Kalshi's. Neither list looks like a contender ladder.

The West book is the more interesting of the two. San Antonio and Oklahoma City are separated by a single point at 35% and 34%, and between them they took $32 of the day's flow. Denver at 6% took $1,078—87% of the entire Western book.

The open interest is the story on Kalshi and the volume is the story on Polymarket. Five million contracts on a single Philadelphia leg, against a $9,662 day, is a book that was built months ago and is now barely quoted. Polymarket's $126,239 day with 29% of it on a 0.75% team is the opposite: all tape, no carry.

Watch the conference boards as the season opens. They are the two widgets on this page nobody trades, and the first real flow into them is the signal that the season book has woken up.
